This week, we were honored to participate in the Morgan Stanley 20th Annual Global Healthcare Conference in New York City. Detect CEO Hugo Barra, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer Eric Kauderer-Abrams, and Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer Owen Kaye-Kauderer kicked off the investor conference’s private company track on Monday, September 12th, introducing Detect to the Morgan Stanley audience for the first time.
We used this opportunity to unveil what our incredible team of scientists and engineers have been working on for nearly a year – Detect’s second-generation rapid molecular at-home diagnostics platform that can test for multiple types of infections from a single sample and return lab-accurate results in 30 minutes or less.
While developing this new platform, we continue to challenge ourselves to make it the most accurate, low cost and easy to use home test. Our founding vision for Detect is Precision Care, Anywhere – and our goal is simple: we want to create world-class diagnostic tools that take the guesswork out of care delivery.
Similar to our first product, the Detect Covid-19 Test, Detect’s new platform utilizes a reusable low-cost Detect Hub and pairs it with a variety of disposable Test Cartridges. Detect’s initial portfolio of at-home tests will focus on Family (Pediatric) Health and Sexual Health.
As Detect announced in February, this project is being partially funded by an up to $30M contract from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Biomedical Advancement and Research Development Agency (BARDA).
